96 4Runner throttle cable to transmission binding..need help!

So I take my 96 4Runner into get all my fluids changed out and a tuneup. They cooler flushed the transmission fluid and had the throttle body assembly off for cleaning etc.
I go to drive it home and notice when stepping on the gas pedal that it binds at some point on light throttle.
The shop looks into it further today and seems to think that perhaps the transmission has some debris impeding the throttle cable or what ever the cable manipulates in the transmission.
As far as I know the gas pedal has a cable that runs into the cruise control box on the passenger side fender well and from there 2 cables go across the engine bay to the throttle assembly and another heads off down to the transmission.
Does anybody have some pictures of all this and any suggestions or thoughts as to what other options this could be? Is this possibly in the valve body or what exactly does the throttle cable to the transmission control? a spool valve?? The throttle assembly moves smoothly when operated by hand so I'm thinking either that cruise control box, cables(although they said they checked these) or whatever is happening in the transmission. Can a person drop the pan and remove the valve body on these transmissions to get at whatever is being controlled by this cable?
thanks
I've been looking at some manuals and I'm starting to think the throttle cable goes into the tranny, operates a cam that must move a spool in the valve body. Perhaps a guy just needs to drop the pan and remove the valve body and clean it out. What a bugger! Does anyone know the exact model of transmission in this unit? I found a Taco manual with an A43D, A340E and a A340F model tranny's...

Well it appears that the throttle cable was intermittently binding on the cam to the roller/plug or plunger which basically pushes a spool valve in the valve body. jeez The tranny pan had to come off and we rotated the plunger a half turn to allow for different contact points...so far working smooth now..
I was told those parts would need to be ordered from across the pond:rolleyes:

Glad to hear that you found the problem. When those things happen to me I start to freak out and usually it's a small issue :o

Well this amazed me... we still aren't certain why it happened. I've had transmission fluid flushed several times in a lot of vehicles and never this. It suggests that the lack of any of these parts in stock also means this is not common I would think...
things that make you go hmmm:eek:

it started acting up again
went and had the fluid flushed again at a fast lube place now. Esso Dexron III fluid.
