Hey everyone,

I've
been lurking for a while & have been enjoying the forum. Looking at all the builds & dreaming of what might be. Unfortunately, my dreaming is coming to an end & I need to sell my love. :frown: My plan was to keep it & make it into something more fun, but time & money don't allow that right now. She runs great & doesn't burn a drop of oil. It was my daily driver up til about 90k. Over the past few years I been driving it about 3000 - 4000 per year.
I would really like someone to buy my 4Runner who can appreciate what I have started or is looking for a great daily driver. Not just someone who's looking for cheap transportation. So I figured this was the best place for a "qualified" buyer.

Here's what I have:

Picasa Web Albums - Allen - 1996 4Runner ...

1996 4Runner Limited
107,300 miles
V6 Automatic
Rear Diff Lock
Desert Dune exterior
Tan Leather
Factory tow pkg
Factory bug shield front & sunroof
Bilstein Shocks
1" Progressive rate springs from Performance Products
BFG All Terrains 275/65/10
ADDCO front & rear sway bars
Piaa Super Bright front bulbs
K&N drop in filter
Remote start w/ keyless entry
Black Armour rear cargo liner
Husky floor mats - front only
Wired for trailer brakes & has 7 pin connector along with flat 4 on hitch
I've been using Mobil 1 in the engine
Red Line full synthetic in the drivetrain
New Toyota battery
90K service completed
Never been in an accident

I also have the factory springs & sway bars that I'll include along with a set of brand new Hawk front brake pads that I was going to install.

I would like to get $7000. But I'd like everyone's opinion if this is a good price or not.

Thanks everybody.

Thanks for the feed back Sonny. You're absolutely right about the rear diff lock. That's one of the main reasons I bought the Limited vs. the SR5.

What do you feel it's worth?

This is how I came up with my price: NADA clean retail at $7100 + $900 for what I've done = $8000. Nice round price, doesn't mean it's right but at least there's thought process.

BTW, love your avatar. That's something I wanted to do with mine.

I had a local guy call about my 4Runner but he was only wanting to pay $5500 maybe a little more.

I thought this was too low.

What's everyone's opinion?

I just bought a very clean '96 80 for a couple hundred more than the guy was offering you for your truck.... as an fyi. "Clean Retail" is the high end of what you can expect to pay at a dealership. You are asking 12.5% more than that! NADA also seems to be a bit behind the curve in taking the SUV factor into consideration. When shopping trucks/suv's recently, they were all priced well below book. You might get what you want for it, but I'd consider anything close to $6k a good offer at this point in time.

I'd probably pull the husky's and ebay them instead of including them with the truck. That should score you some extra cash, because I've never known anybody willing to pay more for a vehicle because it has special floor mats.

Take it for what it's worth, this is only my opinion.

I think your price is a little high. I sold my 96 Limited for $5800. It was in excellent condition and was built like this below on 285s. Mine had 172K mi. I had it posted on CL for $6300

Thanks for the input guys.

That's the insight I'm looking for. Real vs. Wish

I just lowered the price $1000.

Keep the input coming.

Location?

Where in Ill are you? Does this runner have the Center Diff Lock or a rear locker? Maybe I over looked this in your add. Any rust?(didn't know if it was exposed to winter driving on salted roads)

Clean truck and low miles.

Yeah, the Limited has the rear diff lock.

I'm in the central part of IL. So yes, it's been exposed to salt & snow. There's a small spot (golf ball size) by the right front wheel flair that just started to bubble the paint.

Thanks.

I took it out for a drive this week and she's running great. Worked the 4wd & the rear locker just to keep them exercised. I hate to sell it, but I just don't have the time for it right now.

If you want more info. let me know.

I've had some requests for more interior pics & pics of the engine compartment. Check out the album for the latest.

IMO, this is a very reasonable price for the miles, and you can't compare to an 80 or heavily modified 4runr. Although the k&n filter decreases value :D

Was the t-belt, water pump, etc., included in the 90K service, I can see that being a bargaining point if it hasn't.

Wish the 96 limiteds had the same ac/heater controls as the 97+ limiteds (small design feature I know). Bump, just give it a little time.

Thanks Flatland,

It was all done at the 90K service. Belt, pump, etc. She's good to roll. :steer:
