Running, ~might~ pass smog, might need head gasket, you get to find out.
Dirty, but not beaten. High miles, mechanic owned. One tire flat, but does hold air (don't know for how long).

It's my neighbors and the tags are expired, so he needs it gone almost as much as I do. It's in midtown district and I have a trailer if we need to tow it somewhere close.

Let me know if you are interested and I'll put you in touch.

Not totally for sure, but head gasket issues = v6, although I think they are only 3.slOw with an automatic;)

I'll double check tomorrow and get back to you.

If 95, I'd have to guess that POS V6!!
did a HG on one of this bitches last year!!!
NOT FUN!!! I donno what Toyota was thinking when the designed that set up, but they failed, MISERABLY in their design on that.
In 12 years, my wife has seen me MAD, AND I MEAN... really MAD...two TIMES! Those TWO TIMES were both doing that head gasket on that motor!!!
I'd swap that effin thing and put a 6 cyl vortec in it!!!
I got a set of re manned heads when I did it. They dis NOT COME PRE SPECED for valve adjustment. To adjust the valves... You need these lil POS SHIMS you can only get from Toyota!!! They are like 8 bucks a piece and you NEED A FULL SET OF ALL SIZES to set em!!!
I became friends w/ the lead mechanic at reno Toyota. He lent me his set of em so I could get the right ones!!! That was super helpful!!

However...
There was a recall on that motor! If it hadn't been done under recall, I think they will still do it.
You can call Toyota w the vin and they can look it up.
The design flaw as to why that happens is the way the exhaust is routed. It literally mirrors the mating surfaces of both head to block surfaces. That was the other bad part about it... It was nightmare getting the x over of the manifolds out. It's right at the fire wall behind the motor!!!
If the exhaust could be re re routed it would save the HG's and make it easier.
So what Toyota did was beef up the HG in the recall. On my daughters rig, they hastily did the job (I suspect) and they did NOT put a cam seal retainer on the back of the head and it forever leaked!!
After I did it, it's dry as a bone!!

I get a twitch in my eye thinking about working on that thing!!!

Yep, it a V6 manual. Mark was not at home to get the mileage or the last time the HG was replaced. The body and paint look fine. It's black and on the 200 block of Arroyo if you want to look. Seats look worn, interesting ram head gear shifter knob. Tires look like they are done besides the one flat. I think it would clean up nice with a little more attention that my tree and resident birds are giving it. You are not allowed to put a v6 vortec into a toyota anymore unless the factory did (sucks, sucks, sucks I know).

And having done the HG on my 95 I can agree with everything said, except I reused my head so didn't experience the shim fun.
What's better is there is a radiator hose back there against the firewall that generally doesn't get replaced when all the intake is off but sure is apt to pop a couple days after getting it all back together.

I will try and get his phone number tomorrow.

If someone buys this i know a guy who can do those gaskets in his sleep in about 6 hours most times.

Pm sent. (Maybe)
