90 nissan Maxima cruise control question

Howdy,
My Maxima cruise does not work. It turns on and lights up but does not hold the speed and then turns itself off.
I'll do this again, I turn the cruise on it tights up, then press the set button it lights up then it turn itself off
any clues??

VQ30E or VQ30DE? It'll make a difference. You might also want to check on www.Maxima.org they have some pretty good info about all the generations of Maxima. Good luck.

It probably thinks the brake pedal is being depressed or something. Probably just a loose connection somewhere, or your break pedal needs adjusting, or something like that.

I had a vehicle once that the clutch wouldn't pop out all the way when I released it. The clutch was engaged, but the pedal wasn't adjusted very well. If I wanted to use CC I had to put my foot under the pedal and pull it out the rest of the way.

VQ30E is just the SOHC, found in the GXE and some of the LE's, VQ30DE is the DOHC found in the SE's. SOHC will have red valve covers and a single coil, DOHC will have individual coil packs and silver valve covers. Completely different systems. Problem sounds like a malfuctioning control module to me but what do I know.

Good luck and when you need the parts, check Feltons auto wrecking up here they deal with only Nissans and there parts can be alot cheaper than dealer stuff.
