22RE engine (2.4l 4cyl), Automatic, 280 000 km.
Inspected till May 2007.
Body, frame and interior in exceptional nice shape for year (always been rust checked) . THe only rust area on the frame is the where the spare wheel used to be and apperently rust check never got to it.
31.5" GoodYear tires with 80% tread left.
Within the last 15 000 km I replaced:
Timing chain and guides (high quality steel guides)
headgasket
Radiator, thermostat, main coolant hoses
Rear brakes including drums
Rear brake lines (steel and flex)
The engine has a tick that needs to be looked at. I think it is the cam and valve lifters. I was going to fix it before I took on a job in Fredericton (250 km commute) and bought a Jetta diesel. I just don't have the time and money to keep 3 cars on the road. I looked into getting a low milage engine from the local wreckers. He qu[/FONT][FONT=Verdana,Arial,Helvetica]oted me $Cdn 1150 with a 6 month warranty. Maybe you can fix the current engine, but for the purpose of selling it, I would consider the engine dead.
However, the truck still drives (just with a noisy engine), everything else feels and looks like the truck is 5 years old.
This is a great truck and well worth fixing. This would make a great winter car! When I got the truck I had a couple of minor rust spots fixed on the tailgate. A local body shop did it and I treated the areas with rust check and fluid film to prevent them from comming back.
