Hope this is the right forum... I'm no math wiz, but 44 is closer to 45 than it is to 40!

I've never had much trouble assessing the value of most LC's, but since this is an odd bird, its tougher to tell. Don't see many for sale, and the demand in the US for JDM RHD 2B diesel rigs is kinda limited to us enthusiasts.

I have some time coming up, and am considering a frame off restoration. The truck is all original and complete, but will need some new metal here and there. I'm aware I probably wont get the $$ value out of it that I put in, but I'm curious what a nicely restored, 1981 JDM spec BJ44 with 100KM would be worth.

Not looking to hear weather or not its worth restoring, just thoughts on what a clean, stock, restored JDM BJ44 might go for. Not the wishful thinking "Vintage Off Road" or Ebay "Buy it now Price"... but fair market value.

Anybody? Thoughts? Same as a BJ40? More/Less?

Guess I'll try posting this in the Diesel/24 volt section... poor BJ44 just doesn't fit in! :)

In Oz if it was side by side with a BJ40 of the same condition with the same options it'd pull more, just on rare factor alone. How much more? IDK, it's market/opinion dependant. But definitely more. Not much help I'm afraid.

Depending on the severity of rust and drivability- pictures would help. 5-12k.. pics might get a better idea.. 44's are cool, not that different for parts and much more room than a 40 fer sure. I would say more than a 40 rhd for sure..
