Hi everyone, I have a 2005 HZJ 79 Series cruiser single cab with the 1HZ Engine and I am looking at installing a turbo and 3" exhaust. Now I understand that the VDJ79 are the model that has the 1HDT engine in it, so I was wondering once I install a turbo to my 1HZ ( using the 1HDT exhaust manifold) will a 3" exhaust system to suit a VDJ 79 exhaust system bolt straight on ? Or are the mounting points / lengths different ?The reason I ask is that it is a lot cheaper to buy it this way than a "customised" exhaust system to suit a 1HZ turbo. Cheers !

The HDJ79 is the 79 series with a 1HD-FTE, and if you're using a Toyota turbo of a 1HD, the HDJ79 exhaust should line up just fine. A VDJ79 is the new 4.5 v8 turbo-diesel cruiser with the 1VD-FTE engine, and the exhaust for the v8 probably wouldn't line up with the straight 6 too well!
