I think a big part is seeing how it can be done and using that knowledge to apply to your own situation.. but with anything.lots of research, asking questions and help from the sty will go a long way on a build like this..

A lot is to be said for doing it in cardboard first.. i think i'm on my 2nd pack of card so far but its been a surefire way for me to mock things up and then transfer to steel.

I would like to think money isn't a big part of this build.. I've been trying to keep everything pretty low tech to minimise costs by doing as much as I can... and talent... I think it comes down to using your brain to use what you've got. I'm just lucky the results are sufficiently adequate, but I'd say they are far from shop spec or master fabricator..

Got the rubber body mount seat holes drilled out to 32mm, threw them on with rubbers and bolted them to the body.

welded up the body mounts and did some more cad for the next stage of these mounts..
Factory mounts have a plate on the underside, which I'll also add:
And I figured because the body mounts hang so far off the chassis I'll add some fish plates to each side of the mount
The fish plates should give those mounts the rigidity they need (i hope)..

Maan so much grinding! Got all my bits cut out and roughed up.. and one mount bottom plste done..
the other side isnt going as smoothly..
Lots of work, but it’s looking killler!

Got one body mount welded out and a start on the other one before I ran out of time in the shed today... i think with a bit of a clean up and some paint they will come out good.. and definitely stronger than without the fish plates..

They tidy up ok and look the goods with a lick of paint.
I got one bolted to the body ready to tack onto the chassis but was waiting for the paint to dry on the other first.. also its a bit cold out tonight so that makes the struggle real (2c)

Tacked them onto the chassis and got the body off of jack stands..
Dunno about ride height yet but as there is no springs in there i put the chassis on jack stands thinking about ride height.. loving the clearance just with this much lift but will likely end up with a little more by the time we're all done.

Front body mount fabbed up and painted.. ready to tack into place..

I've got one more set to do.. they are mostly bent up just need to be finished off.. they sit on the outside of the chassis rail just forward of this mount and are only there because i've used the BJ73 floor..

Last of the body mounts done..
Removed the fzj80 engine mounts and gearbox mounts.. just got one gearbox mount to finish removing off the chassis.
Next up is bolting 15bf, h55f and transfer together so i can slot into the 80 chassis and make new engine gearbox mounts..

So i plan to run a 600x300x76 intercooler (https://www.aeroflowperformance.com/af90-1000blk-600-x-300-x-76mm-3-in-out) but I'm not 100% sure it will fit... so out comes the CAD again to make a 600x300x76mm spacer..
Running the radiator and shroud from the BJ73 I'll need to use the same radiator mounting setup welded to the 55 front end.. A/C condenser *should* fit in front of the intercooler..
