Making some progress. cleaned and painted some of the winch parts, installed new seals and made a gasket using the cricut. The rest of the parts are still being media blasted. Some will get plated, others painted.

I got this NOS cluster several years ago. I transplanted the old MPH speedo with the VSS and painted the needle. I'm waiting for the terminals to arrive to finish the adapter for the wiring harness. This cluster also has an oil gauge in place of the amp meter for using with my voltage converter circuit. It converts battery/alternator voltage to work with the oil gauge, about 14V mid scale.

It sat on the shelf here for a long time waiting for the right home :)
What happened to your Maine coon picture?!

I think I have settled on this radio. It has the tuner peg on the left like the stock radio and has adjustable pegs. I had to replace the grain of wheat bulbs for the AM/FM indicators and I replaced a few of the larger caps. It also had some intermittent connections I had to hunt down and resolder on the board. They used the IF transformer cans as a ground path on some of these old radios and the mounting tabs tend to need re-flowed over time. It is an AM/FM but not stereo so it can work with the single speaker in the pocket. It took some doing to get the faceplate to fit correctly, still not sure it will fit the dash opening correctly. I found this NOS 4x6 clarion speaker that has the correct mounting holes that match the stock speaker.

Off the top of my head I’d think door hinge pins

I made up these shear pins and finished the last U-joint for the PTO. Someone had drilled the shear pin out to 1/4" so I made up some brass pins. I will never winch anything with this, just want to not kill the winch accidently.

I spent many hours winching my deuce and half wearing a signal rig and pulling a generator trailer with 2 ten kW gennys and four 55 gallon drums of gasoline both up and down mountains in Germany. I could shear the issue aluminum pins just letting out the clutch fast with no load on the winch. Useless and they would only issue 3 pins per truck with a winch. An Army of 1 brain cell. Yea well I had a 3/8 allen wrench and a roll of electrical tape (to hold in the wrench) to do all my winching. Nothing like having the winch pin sheer when you are on a steep muddy/icy grade and the wheels will lock but the rig continues to slide down the hill.

Would say high side out so the outer edge seat is higher. Could verify later. Still have the original set for my 68 and 73. Plus a few others.

Really looks to me like the tall side is toward the front as you suggest. That would also accommodate the swinging down into position without leaving a skid mark on the wheel well.
