63 front axle

New here looking to convert my 63 chevy 2wd to 4wd. Was wondering what axle came stock in the 63 4x4? Also what axle I could use as a front axle with out changing the rear axle.

just make sure they have the same gear ratio, stock is a closed knuckle Dana 44, you may also need different u jionts of a differen't flange for the pinion, I threw in some pic's of a guy that used a blazer frame to convert, he had to cut down the bed a few inches to make it work, if I did it over this is how I would go. You should know that the stock truck has a lot of lift out of the box, they are spring over and have blocks in the back like 6 inches, you would likly have to ditch the ibeams and find a doner 4x4 frame and move it over..
