60 series part??

Hey there Kiddies,
anyone have a spare 60 series gate with a functional wiper motor in it. Mine has decided to s*** the bed, right as it gets really cold and interesting.....

Lemme see what I can do to get up in the attic and get that part. There is a dead FJ40 under the pulldown ladder right now.

Worst case, I go outside and remove one from a parts truck.

The kind with severe OCD tendencies who does not trust anyone else to touch his truck.
Plus it would have taken me longer to explain how to take the alternator off without destroying the tubes for the smog pump than it was worth.

What's the deal with alternator trauma... I think mine died last night. Had to roll start it to get home. Then there was a lovely whir/grind/buzz going on when the engine would come down from a rev? Related, he!! if I know. Taking the Alt to Auto Zone for testing this AM.

Sure, Mine didnt make a lot of noise, Just outputting at 8.5 volts. have you checked the alternator for play in the shaft? IIRC the smog pump is right above the alternator and a more common failure of bearings.

Did not check that, but the noise is only from 1000 down to 800 RPM as it is normalizing from a rev. It is a vibration under the shifter boot that correlates exactly to the charge light. There's a tiny bit more defelction in the belt than is optimal, but there's no slippage either. I haven't pulled it off yet so I haven't seen anything on the shaft.

I will pull it later tonight while the Colts disassemble the Saints!

Reman alt worked like a charm... consistently pulling 13 or so with a minor down tick with air con or turn signals... Red is running again.
