6 Speed Manual Questions

I was looking at getting an 80, however I need to buy something newer.

For wheeling, the only option I see is a Tacoma, most likely will be TRD for the locker. Definitely prefer a Manual transmission and am looking at a 4-door, and that means the 6 speed.

I've heard faint references to issues or something with this transmission, can anyone elaborate?

I don't recall hearing of issues with the 6mt, but that doesn't mean there aren't any. Either way, I had an '07 Tacoma with the 6mt and now an FJC with the same transmission. The FJC has almost 50K miles and shifts just as well as it did when new. The only issues I've noticed is that it doesn't like to shift into first gear when cold, but that's not uncommon with any manual transmission.
