Yeah, I was partially infected by Sherpa's diesel swap madness for a while. Got a chevy 6.2 diesel with 87,000 on it I'd like to sell , or trade for a solid 2F for my '65 FJ45 wagon project...

thanks, alan

hmmmmm

Think'n out loud:
will a SM420 bolt up to it? 4 core toyota radiator should keep it cool.... standard GM motor mounts, right? What else is involved with the swap? ECM? wiring harness? need a tranny or t-case crossmember ........

Yep, 420 or 465 will bolt right to it. You'll need a flywheel, this one was set for auto. You'll need a vacuum pump, some injector lines...plenty of tech out there on the swap, and I can put you in touch with guys that have done it.

Chef,

When I mentioned about this thread to my brother, he got interested in those engines...
What are approximate dimensions (I know it's huge weight already)?
Whare do you get one from in decent shape?

Thanks,

Well he coulda got one from me, but nows it's gone:(
It's a big heavy beatch, think Chevy big block. You can get GM Goodwrench remans, cruise junkyards, look for military takeouts (from hummers).
Roger Thuerer from STLCA has done this several times.

Thanks for the info.
As for my brother, he got interested when I told him that the engine went
to junkyard for those $25.
Now he is in "research" mode... but of course uses me for that too. ;)
