Cleaned my IAC (Idle Air Control) the other day and it had a gap when opening and closing I was just wondering if it should have a gap of be fully shut when closed?

I should have taken pictures of it before I put it back on. But it's spring loaded or what have you to be in a closed position... It's not fully closed it has a gap a when it's "closed". I can open it and it retracts just fine to the position just not fully closed is all.

Was it dirty around the rim? It should close as much as possible within it's bore....if that makes sense.

It was real gummed up. I wouldn't be surprised if the whole 180000 miles this thing has on it the IAC had never been cleaned. I'll take it off soon and add pictures to show what i'm blabbing about. As far as the idle goes i'm not sure yet I need to let the ecm reset completely still.
