I'm looking at the newest Infinity 5 channel amp to power my four door speakers and my new 8" sub. It looks like I can fit it into the rear PS cargo panel of my 80. Anybody have an other recommendations around the same size?

I currently have an old Alpine 4ch amp powering the door speakers, but I'm running into space problems trying to add another amp. Cost for the amp, power distribution block, wires, mounting, etc. and I may as well just step up to the 5ch. amp and be done with one.

Thoughts?

Sounds like good idea to mount it in there, but how much heat will it produce. Maybe if you had a fan, or some way to ventilate it, it might help. I think it's a good idea, just make sure of the size. I bought all JL stuff for my 80, reran all new speaker, power wires and added a distribution block.

I have my current amp back there now. With the factory sub removed, I have plenty of space and the old sub grill allows for a little air movement. No issues so far.

I'm sort of leaning toward adding a second amp for the sub. 150W for the sub channel of the 5ch amps I'm seeing is a little lean ~ my sub wants 200-400W at 4 ohms. We'll see. I just finished my cargo/sub box today, so now that I have some time, I'll start shopping for an amp so I can get my new sub going.
