I am asking you guys what the trailer is worth. It is a buddy and want a unbasis answer. He's hurting for $$ and thinks it's worth 4-550??? It appears to be similar size to a m416. I want one for an offroad trailer and match it to my 40.

4x6 6 lug frame trailer with wood paneling and floor. Here are the pics:

You are essentialy buying the frame and would like to pay a frame price. Your buddy is selling a fully capable trailer and is pricing it accordingly. A good low-rust frame with good rubber, I'd pay $300-$400. The box looks good and is probalby worth another $100 or so. Again, you are looking at two different things in one package and you'll have to compromise to make a deal. If it were me, I'd let him try to sell it on Craig's list for his price, if he gets it good for him, if not he may come down for you.

Not to lowball your buddy...or kick a guy while he's down..I'm thinking 250 to 300 bucks.

if you're buddy needs cash... tell him to put it on CL for his asking price. I wouldn't want a wooden box for off road use. it wouldn't stand up to the bumps and beatings it would be subjected to. unless of course you just plan to use on very tame dirt and gravel roads...

I bought both my good condition 416s for $450 - $500. To me a trailer like the above is worth maybe $200-$250. Your area may differ. I'd fire up fleaBay and craigslist in your area and see what people are asking. In the case of fleaBay you should also be able to find out what they are GETTING. Asking and getting obviously being two completely different animals.

If the axle is the right bolt pattern for you and the frame is solid, then it should be fair at about $400. If he is buddy enough to be fair then do it, if not that good of a buddy, figure what you would be kicking yourself not to get it and offer that.
I bought a 4 x 6 utility from a buddy who had to get rid of it for $50 years ago. I put several hundred more into it just to get it useable. Enough to have bought a better trailer.
