hey, my friend is looking at buying a 4th gen 4runner, im a cruiser guy so i cudnt help him much on a couple questions i tried researching it but i cant figure it out, i wanted to know whats the deal with atrac and rear lockers on a 4th gen? is it true that only the 2009 trail editions have these options? or do other year/models have them too?

Only the trail edition has the atrac and rear locker. None of the other models (SR5, Sport, Limited) had rear lockers. But the ATRAC works pretty well and if he's not going to do any hardcore trails, it will be all he needs. I've had multiple e-locked rigs, but for the moderate trails I do, never even had to engage the locker and just ran open.

yes, i agree atrac is all you need for light stuff, is the trails the only one with atrac?

No, all 4th gen 4Runners have ATRAC. You'd be surprised what it will get you through.
