4runner to Land Cruiser?

I have a 85 4Runner with an OM617 turbo diesel

I have decided to get a Land Cruiser.

My use and plans for my Land Cruiser.

Daily Driver
Soft Trails
Family truckster.

Small lift 4” or less
Maybe ARBs
And plowing my driveway.

So here goes what years should I look for.

My mechanical abilities are as follows.

I can swap out parts and do basic diagnosis.
I did swap the diesel into my 85 4runner I cheated and bought a kit.

I want reliability ,room for the family and good looking SUV.

I did source a 1991 LC automatic central diff lock. Plan Jane stock. Almost 200K for $1900.00 seems high. But I don’t know squat about LC .

Welcome. When shopping for my 80 I quickly narrowed my list to 95-97 units only. We can offer local help once you decide what you want but as stated the 80 section FAQ is excellent. It made my buying process much easier.

Dont let the high milage scare you very solid rigs, save yourself the trouble and get a 93-97 those years came with factory e lockers. I have a 96 factory locked with 239k and has never let me down

Also check the 80 series faq (frequentley asked ?'s) at the top of any forum page. I think you tried to trade your runner for my 80, I had to take it off cl before I made a mistake I would regret for the rest of my life.
