I tried plugging in my EcoFlow fridge into the AC outlet in the bed and it worked but then I discovered the inverter is limited to 100 watts when the truck is in gear. The 400 watts is only available with the truck in park.

I found several wire harness mod kits to defeat this limit and allow the inverter to run at 400 watts when driving but I wonder why Toyota designed it to limit the inverter to 100 watts in the first place. Maybe alternator protection? Anyone know?

100 watts isn’t enough on AC when the compressor runs. The annoying thing is that the fridge will run on the cigarette lighter DC plug which is 100 watts. The AC plug just draws more due to the conversion.

Edit: just made 9 hour road trip up to MN for Thanksgiving. With the fridge battery fully charged, 100W runs the fridge. Running the compressor while simultaneously charging the onboard battery, is too much for the 100W inverter.
