i'm looking at a 3" lift for my girlfriends '96 4runner. i'm trying to stay in the $300 range and need opinions on two options.

A- eibach 3" front coils and OME 3" rear coils plus diff and panhard drops

B- front coil spacers and 3" OME rear springs plus diff and panhard drop

her 4runner is a dd so i'm looking for the best road handling lift, not necessarily the best for wheeling.

anything im overlooking? i'm new to 4runners.

thanks

THat seems to be a bit low, you also have to buy an extended brake line hose for the rear, new shocks all the way around as the factory ones are not long enough, front end alignment and you might want to think about new armor as you will either need to modify the factory skid plate or replace it.

thanks, i overlooked the brakelines. the $300 is just for the lift. shock, allignment as well as new tires are already expected expenses.

I was also told to look into Landcruiser coils but all i can find is a rear coil swap for 2nd gen 4runners. if i've missed something for the 3rd gen, point me in the right place.

They are talking about using 80-series front coils on the rear of a 3rd Gen 4Runner. You can take a look here for a kit idea and some more info. I am running the 1.2 kit in the link I posted and really like it.

Hey you should check out yotatech.com if you have not checked it out yet. There is tons of info on 3rd.gen. 4run.lifts.I would like to put the OME 2-3" lift on the wifes 2000.But its a bit spendy,I think around $750 for just springs&shocks.I had the OME 4" on my old 93 80 and they handle great on the street and even better offroad!
If you ever find your way out of the SC mtns.send me a PM as I am in Felton! John

I have a 3" toytech lift on my 98 runner. Personally I would go and look at 2.5" total coilover replacement for the front if your really set on suspension lift. 3" is to much lift in the front of these things you can never get the alignment perfect everything is at the extreme which in turn puts a ton of stress on your balljoints. I have broken/worn out and replaced them 3 times in the last 3 years with only mild wheeling. It's pretty easy to do a two inch body lift on these and it will allow you to run 285 's while keeping your suspension geometry stock and reliable.

Check out these guys for a lot of great info on 3rd gen lifts
