2nd Gen Platinum Second Row Console Replacement?? (1 Viewer)

Hey Guys,

I'm curious if anyone has decided to replace the 2nd row center console in a Platinum?

The idea is, that console can be a problem if trying to place longer objects on the 2nd row. For me it would be mostly wasted space as it also prohibits longer objects from being stored under the 2nd row seats.

In any event I thought I had seen something about folks who had taken the console out and either left a space there (that I think I can figure out as it seems to be pretty straightforward) or replaced it with something that mimicked having a seat there even if it was just wood anchored to the seat/console bolt holes designed to take the same dimensions of the 2nd row middle seat in the Limited.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I removed mine. It's pretty easy to remove. Two bolts on the inside and two bolts on the front where you'll need to pry open the cup holder. I have a 3rd row Husky floor mat that has the empty space covered. You can replace the 2nd row with the bench seats but I just left the space open to make it easier to get in and out of the 3rd row because I have two car seats in the 2nd row captain chairs.

Sounds like getting that console out is pretty straightforward.

I suspect it would be really difficult to find a replacement middle seat section out there somewhere??

That’s why I was interested to see if anyone decided to fabricate something to at least span that space at seat level so you could use it to hold things like the bench seat does and also provide space under the seats to store things out of sight like camera tripods, etc.
