So I pulled the head off today and noticed in cylinder 2 there are 2 indents in the cylinder wall. About 1mm in and looks pitted. Have no idea what I’m looking at.

Looks like gudgeon pins moving around to me.

I've never seen anything like that, but I'd think it must be impacting compression and causing blowby.

There is a 2l with trans near me for $500 if you need another one....

Wow I would pull the piston out and see if the con-rod is loose !! looks like it was walking around and rubbing on the cylinder wall..
time to bore it out and oversize it!!

Well I dropped the head off at the machine shop today. Was talking and it won’t actually be too bad to sleeve the cylinder. Hell I’ll probably get them to throw in new bearings and I’ll have a brand new 2L. Bet I’ll get another 300,000 out of it👌

Just got word back from the machine shop, the head is perfectly fine, seals good, valves not bent. They're pulling apart the block as I type. Getting them to sleeve cylinder 2, hone the other cylinders, and getting them to put in new rings and bearings. Will be more then I originally thought when I pulled the head, but what's the point of going this far and not doing it properly. May as well spend a paycheck and get another 300,000 out of it.

soooooooo piston #2 did a little melty melt

Shop recommended just getting .50 over pistons and boring out the walls, might get away with not needing a sleeve. I'm going for it, too far into this motor and I want to see what its like driving without a melted piston. Anyone know where I can get *good* pistons?
