Has anyone got an image or diagram or explain a 12v 2h alternator with internal regulator with green 3 plug red, white and blue, bench test set up?
So far I can figure that 12v battery charge goes to the larger b+ and battery negative goes to alternator body.
The white wire coming from the reg is 'S' which goes to in-car amp meter,
blue wire is 'L' which goes to a test globe (does this return to earth?) ((is this known as the excitement line?)
and red wire is ignition which is not necessary for testing?
In past I have just test connected in engine bay, but I have 3 x alternators to test, so bench test would be much quicker and handy for anyone picking up a used alt from a upull it.
This would be handy knowledge to have on fact files.
