It's time for tires. At first I was gonna do 33x10.50-15 BFG AT's. But, I really don't wanna spend 800$ on tires, then hit up a trail and get packed up w/ mud first time out. I'd be a bit upset.

So I want MT's. BFG KM2's are too much damn money. I spent 1500$ on this truck, don't wanna put that much into tires.

Trail Grapplers are a good aggressive tread but still have some highway manners, not to mention a typically long life.

Anyone wanna take a shot at talking me out of these? Think I can do better w/ something else?

How about fitment? I had 255/85-16 on my FZJ, fit great, no rub anywhere. I think w/ the 34's I might need to do a 1-1.5 spacer up front, after that I think I'll be fine.

Joe,
Mike (Yohavos) has the Falken Rocky Mountain ATS. I was going to get those in the near future. He can chime in on his experience, but for the money its a bargain compared to other makes/brands on the 285/75/16 size. Didn't check if they offered the size you're looking for but worth a look.

I was originally wanting to go something like a Falken Wildpeak, but I really don't think I'd be satisfied with an AT tire.

If you're wary of an AT, avoid the Rocky Mountains. They're on the mild side of AT's.

I really liked mine, but was looking for an AT. I was also able to rely on selectable f/r lockers when traction was low.

If you're feeling cheap, Treadwright re-treads are about as cheap as it gets, I think. I ran a set for a while that ended up being too aggressive for what I wanted, but they hooked up great with the kedgegrip stuff in em.

Now, if you could find some old school KM's in a 33x10.5 that would be sexy...

I ran trail grapplers on my FJ Cruiser. Granted I didn't have it very long but for the short amount of time that I had it, they were awesome. I don't think you would be disappointed.
