Does anyone else find the trans/gears are off with 285 tires? I've had the tires on for about 300 miles now and light throttle around 35-45mph is especially bad. Saying it feels like the trans is slipping isn't really the right descriptor, but it's the closest I can think of.

Stomp on the gas and everything feels right again, but yea light throttle feels weird from a roll.

I had 285/75/16 Duratracs on my FJC and my 80 and I never experienced this feeling.

I have no issues with my 285/70/17s AT BFGs, -12 offset 17x9 rims, and stock gears.

Maybe your tires are rubbing on body if you used stock oem rims.

Post a photo and more details on offset, rims, lift, mud terrains or ATs, etc

I have 5th gen 4Runner SR5 wheels with 285 Duratracs and Toytec/Bilstein coilovers. Trimmed the mud flaps, only rub I have now is a slight rub of the inside sidewalls against the UCA on off camber turns. Once I have it aligned this slight UCA rub should go away.

That said I definitely know what a rub feels like and this isn't it. It's almost like the trans is always in too high of a gear.
