My good friend has a 1987 Mercedes ex-military short wheelbase G Wagon with a 24v system. 2x12v batteries connected in series to a 24v alternator. Only one of the batteries will charge at a time. When he swaps the batteries round, the one which which wasn't charging now charges and the other doesn't. Any ideas?
