2018 mid year changes LC (1 Viewer)

During my search for a different LC, I was told that in mid 2018 Toyota made the switch over to the newer radiator and the transmission issues were corrected?? Anyone have any more information on those two subjects? Wanted to narrow down what month in 2018 was the update rolled out and if that was indeed a fact or just hearsay. May help with determining a purchase. Thanks in advance

I wouldn’t worry about it or make it a decision point. The hard 1-2 shift in the ‘16-‘17 years some experienced in the 8 speed (Including me) is easily fixed with a firmware update that costs an hour at the dealer. The radiator was changed for ‘18 but determining the exact date (not just month) is pretty much a moot point. The radiator is not too hard to get changed out if needed someday and you can readily tell if a vehicle you’re considering has the new type.

My 1/18 build date 2018 has the old radiator. Hasn’t leaked yet at 93k.
