Sethzilla has a poll going in the Trails and Events section for this year's TnS. Evidently there's an event the traditional first weekend in November when this is held and they have the ENTIRE beach closed.

I only mention as I haven't been getting out as much as I'd like and am considering going, especially now that all the proposed dates don't conflict with work!

Voted Nov 11-13 works best for me.

I'd voted for Oct 21-23, but this date works for me too and seems to be the prevailing choice so far. Only reason is that weather may be a little more unpredictable the later in the year it is.
