Hey guys i’m hoping i can get an answer here bc even the dealership was clueless. I’ve heard it all from ECU water damage to air filter change, but nothing seems to work.

The car is idling high RPM and suffering on mpg, also jerking like it wants to accelerate when trying to slow down.

So far I’ve changed:
EGR
MAP
Differential fluids change
Professional Fuel system cleaning
Coming up on 180k

I’d be happy to get a solution or even just a loose end to chase after if theres a chance itll help.

This issue has been going on for a while and i’d like to move on.

Most of these are evap / fuel systems, but the P2714 is a trans code that is usually pretty serious. Search for it here, and you'll find extensive scattershot approaches to fix. It seems like the people who have fixed it permanently without replacing the whole tranny changed out the valve body and or solenoids.

Could it just be replacing hoses and double checking clamps? Or should I go for a sensor bypass?

I’ve seen some of the transmission stuff, seems s***ful

Eliminate some of the easy stuff that can cause confusing symptoms...

Make sure no rodent damage to wire harnesses and any vacuum lines. Easy to check for evidence of activity and go from there. Might as well eliminate this possibility ...

Also, make sure the battery and alternator are in good condition and >12V when vehicle is running. I have noted problems like this in my 200 series with low battery voltage. Toyota electronics dont seem to like low voltage.
