That explains why the 4runner is being scaled back this year to a smaller SUV that is only available in a 4 cyl and V6 and is not getting as much plush features as the current model. It looks like Toyota is going to release this to bump customers out of the 4runner but don't need the big full size Land Cruiser. Kinda getting back to the days of where the FJ60 fell into the mix.

It will be interesting if they keep the FJCruiser around once this hits the states. I just hope they plan on getting their diesels figured out before they try to bring this to the US market. A diesel is the only way I can see people upgrading from a V6 4runner here to this model.

Looks like a nice VW Toureg killer to me.

I found another article that says US specs are coming soon, and that it will be available as a 3 door model in other markets outside of the UK.

Lets see, a scaled down 4runner, a 3 door and 5 door mini Landcruiser, and a full size Land Cruiser? Say bye to the FJCruiser.

we already knew the FJ CRuiser platform was being discontinued in 2011 or 2012 but that the 4Runner was also being shut down and a new platform to cover both the 4Runner and FJ Cruiser audience that regains its trail worthiness was going to be the successor...stiffer frame...improved performance while still being a utility vehicle.

nothing new here..... MOVE ALONG!

I see, so the new 4 door 4runner coming out in a month is the same as this Land Cruiser over seas, and the 3 door version will replace the FJCruiser.

Yep but it shrunk a little along with the new 4runner. I think Toyota finally realized big America isn't better.

Now if they will just make the Tacoma back the size it used to be, and put a fiberglass top back on a 2 door 4runner/Land Cruiser/FJCruiser we would be in business.

The horse is a liar! It's sept. bub.

I stand corrected based on those measurements, but I bet the truck is lighter. There is no way the current 4runner could be pushed by a 4 cyl. if it wasn't. 4Runners and FJCruiser's are heavy SOB's.

Looks good but I guess that I will have to be content with old Betsy. With the money Betsy is sucking up and the :princess: BMW I will have to rely on the Z71 and Betsy. Sure would like to have one the new diesel models though.
