Read a lot on this forum over the years and just started posting about my trailer build HERE but I am considering selling my 2010 4Runner Trail as I want to look for an older vehicle with a V8 for towing and modification.
Here is a little info about the car and modifications:
- 2010 Runner Trail ~44K miles - daily driver
- Nav Package: That means bluetooth, nav, premium JBL sound, satellite radio (actually have gotten SiriusXM for free since buying it a year ago - perhaps the PO is still paying or paid pump sum up front), usb connection, aux line in. The works basically.
- I am sure a lot of you have read and know about the KDSS system and the systems on the 5th gen 4Runner trail. All sorts of traction control selections like hill climb control, decent control, rear locking diff, etc.
- Aside from the traction control settings, the trail has some nice features - sturdy roof rack. The Thule cross bars and the RTT are NOT included in the sale - unless you want to pay for them, haha. Has a 110v plug in the center console and in the rear tailgate area. Nice to have for charging things. There are also mods you can do to have the rear 'On' all the time as stock it requires the key to be in ACC mode - just make sure not to drain your battery. See that HERE
- Bilstein 5100s up front.
- 1.5" spacer in the rear.
- Installed airlift air bags in the back because I tow - it also helps with leveling. See pics below to see how I installed the two valves on the rear bumper. Super clean install - they stay out of the way and are easy to access.
- 4 Nitto Terra Grapplers installed, balanced and aligned in October of 2012. Tires have little wear.
- Wheels are 17" KMC XD796 Wheels. They came on the truck from the PO - I like the offset as it gives the truck a wider stance.
- Nerf Bar Side Steps - bolt on - these are obviously not serious rock crawler bars, but I just needed steps to get to the roof rack easily.
- Front deflector
- Car has vinyl protecting chip prone areas like the front of the hood, by the wheels, behind handles, etc. Saves the paint.
- I took out the plastic stop on the rear of the cargo tray - it's much easier to slide things in and out. Still have it just not mounted.
- Installed smaller antennae but should still have the stock one. Just dont listed to AM/FM so having the OEM for reception was not needed.
- Have a super solid locking steel box in the center console. I love having this to keep valuables safe. Very well built and bolted down and has a programable combo lock.
- Blacked out the front logo with paint. Plastidipped the rear chrome logos - easily comes off and is easily re-applied for the fully blacked out look.
- Got new factory headlights installed - there was a recall on the originals as they fogged easily. New lights look way better - believe they just replaced them with the 2011+ assembly. Done under warranty.
- Got the drive shaft 'thunk' issue taken care of through the dealer as well. Again, under warranty - but those two things added to over $2k (at retail) in dealer service.
- All service has been performed at regular intervals through a local independent shop (Lovefield Auto, for all those in the DFW area - awesome straight forward, honest shop). I have only serviced this car twice as I have only had it about 9 months.
Considerations:
- There are some light scratches on this car - superficial - but with the car being black..it shows.
- There is a very small chip on the rear hatch near the logo - about 1/8" round and through the paint. This was there when purchased. No rust as I have covered it, but still a blemish.
- Probably should have cleaned it up more before taking pics, but the interior is in nice condition. Some scratches on the plastic in the rear from carying cargo, but nothing major.
- Seats are all clean, no rips but there is some slight visible wear on the drivers seat as you see in all cars.
I am likely forgetting something but I will update with info/answers to questions.
Price: This is my first post to see what the market is like, but judging by what is available out there, I am thinking $31,000.
- Truck is located in Dallas, TX. Fairly flexible with work if you want to check it out, etc.
- Still have a balance outstanding on this car but can pay off before transferring title. Can work that out should the buyer be interested.
Here is a close up of the air bag valve placement and install. Super clean - no clearance issues and easy to access. One on each side.
