2004 Lexus GX470, 4.7L V-8, 224.5K miles, 5-speed automatic transmission, full time all wheel drive with center diff lock and two speed transfer case (hi/low), non-KDSS. Two genuine Lexus keys with built-in remote lock/unlock. Traction control, stability control, ABS, power windows and locks, sliding sunroof, full auto up/down on all windows and open/close on sunroof. Bilstein shocks with 2” lift. 18” Vision wheels with Toyo tires. Rear airbags sensor adjusted to match lift, rear airbags fully functional.

Folding, easily removable third row seats. Back up camera and Rexing 1080p dash camera. Tint on all windows except windshield and sunroof (sunroof has factory tint). Nav, fully automatic climate control and headlights, memory seats, Mark Levinson Stereo package (including sub-woofer), rear entertainment, and rear heating/cooling controls. See picture of original window sticker for full configuration and options.

I am the third owner and have records and manuals, Carfax shows no accidents. I purchased this in March of ’22 at 218.9K miles and the following work was done:
*$3,200 spent replacing air conditioner components: compressor, clutch, lines, and condenser. Work was done at the Toyota dealer in the Valley using all Lexus parts. The rear air works.
*$2,400 at the Lexus dealer: new timing belt, water pump, radiator and thermostat. Brake fluid, power steering fluid, and transmission fluid were changed/flushed.
*I changed the spark plugs (OEM from dealer), rear end fluid, the transfer case fluid, and topped up the front diff fluid. I also lubed all the u-joints and slip yokes and adjusted the parking brake at the wheels.

More:
*Center diff lock functions well and I cycle it once a month or so, I also take it out to dirt and run it in 4lo for several hundred feet at the same time.
*Removed door cards and lubed all windows, tracks, and lock mechanisms, as well as all switches, hinges and latches, disassembled rear wiper assembly and lubricated gears.
*Checked all three climate control blend door servo’s, drivers side was removed and lubed, both passenger side units were verified for correct operation.
*Mark Levinson stereo: All speakers are functional with good foam surrounds, the CD player/changer in the glove box works as does the tape deck. The amplifier was removed and cleaned. The rear entertainment DVD system/screen/dvd player works and includes two remotes. I will include a Bluetooth to FM transmitter to play music from your phone over the main stereo. 1080p Rexing dash cam, hard wired with power tap from rear view mirror, plug and play, no wires were cut/spliced.
*New spark plugs installed. (purchased at the Lexus dealer).
*Front seats removed and slides and gears lubed. The two position memory fully works. Includes marine fire extinguisher mounted just inside rear door (easily remove/moveable if desired).
*All dash/console switches were cleaned, lubed, and verified to have working lights when the headlights are on. Courtesy/ambient lights in door handles and console all function correctly, they provide just enough light to see in the dark, but not so much to be intrusive.
*K&N air filter included (not installed, currently has a nearly new factory Lexus filter installed), includes partial oil and cleaning solution kit. Rear diff vent was extended/relocated to rear hatch area (near latch).
*18” Glasspack/Cherry Bomb muffler, loud if you hammer it, mellow for cruising and idle. I saw a 1-2mpg improvement after this was installed.
*Gas cap replaced with OEM unit, I have only run ethanol free gas in this since I bought it.
*Factory receiver hitch with Tekonsha P3 trailer brake, can be removed easily and put away in its case when not in use. Includes hitch ball attachment with regular and locking pin as well as 8-pin to 4/5-pin wiring adapter. I have not towed with this.
*Lexus carpet and winter mats (1 set of each), including cargo area carpet mat.
*18” Vision wheels wrapped in Toyo Open Country (265 60 18) tires. These are sized correctly and the speedo is accurate. Spare is on a factory rim and in good shape. All (5) TPMS sensors work. Truck has switch/selector for two sets of TPMS sensors, so you can run a winter and a summer set without having to reprogram, just press the button.
*Clear bra on front and over headlights and fog lights since new. Paint underneath is in good condition. This has minimized the amount of rock chips this has, you can remove the clear bra and the truck should look nearly new underneath.
*LED (aftermarket) low beams (halogen high and fogs).
*Battery was new when I purchased this and I have kept it topped up with distilled water and charged it as needed.
*The front inner fender panels around the upper control arms that clip on have been replaced on both sides.
*The running boards have been removed and a filler panel installed to cover the bolt holes at the bottom of the front fenders. The power leads for the lights on the running boards are still there, I wanted to install under body lights and never did, but the connectors/power are still there if you want to.

I regularly treat the leather with Lexol leather conditioner, once a year I wipe down all the rubber seals with silicone and lube the hinges/latches/slides with light oil, ignition has been lubed with powdered graphite. I also treat the dash and all plastics regularly with Meguiars products.

Notes:
I used to be a professional mechanic and have always been impressed with how easy to work on these trucks are. I went over this with a fine comb and there are no broken clips, all the wood is also in good condition. It has been a Washington vehicle since new, it does not have any of the heat damage (makes things brittle) or rust (minor surface rust only) that you would find on vehicles from other areas. The VIN is available in the listing if you want to plug it in to the Lexus Owners site or pull a CarFax. I would not hesitate to take this vehicle any where and planned to keep it a good long time. I have the Carfax and Lexus Owners service history that is current up to when I purchased it. Carfax report shows no accidents, I am the third owner.

More:
If you are undecided about one of these, spend some time watching videos about them on YouTube to see examples of builds and how other people run/use them as well as the reliability and durability of these trucks. There is also ih8mud, and clublexus sites if you want to do additional reading (the “what did you do to your GX today” thread is a good start). You want to be in the first gen GX or the Land Cruiser Prado 120 forum. The Service advisor at Lexus told me there “are multiple examples of these still on the road with over 500K miles”. These are sold as a Land Cruiser Prado in other markets and this is one of the best generations that Toyota has made. Note that this is a body on frame vehicle, it’s basically a truck, and both rides like one, and has the durability of one. It can tow 6,500lbs.

You can find these for less money, but with older Toyotas it’s always about the maintenance. They will run forever but need regular maintenance, I’ve brought this up current on it’s maintenance and it should run for a good long time without needing much, so don’t let the miles worry you, if you compare my price to the ones you can buy that still need many thousands in work this one is ready to drive across the country, today. I recommend that you go look at a few before you see this one, so that you can compare what work the others need with this one.

$14,900 or reasonable offers considered. Please, serious inquiries only, please also have your funding already in order before you contact me. I’m selling because I have physical problems that make driving difficult, which is why I’ve only put 6K miles on it, I was doing OK when I got it, and was able to do the work on it (I planned to keep it for a very long time), but since then I’ve not been able to drive it much and we also found out my wife has Stage-4 Leukemia so both of our adventuring potential is pretty limited now. I’d like for it to go to someone that will use it to its full potential and appreciates what unique and durable rig these GX’s are.
