Hey All,
My 2004 with navi has been mostly awesome so far, but this past week the radio started to malfunction. The antenna retracts and extends randomly whether the stereo is on or not. When listening to radio, the radio retunes from say, 101.3 to 101.5, or very rarely 101.1. Also occasionally, the mode of the stereo changes randomly to cd, tape or dvd while listening to the radio. Wife's DD - always has the weird problems, go figure
. Just ticked past 100k in case anyone is keeping score.
I suspect the root of the problem is in the antenna mast ecu. I suspect this because the antenna extends and retracts on its own whether the stereo is on, off or in any other mode (tape, dvd, etc.).
Anyway, searched the web and ih8mud in particular, found nothing significant so far. Anybody had a similar issue? Anybody else had gremlins traced back to antenna mast ecu? If so please let me know. I am half tempted to go after the ECU and maybe relay (the relay switch sounds loud, but behaves properly as near as I can tell, but...) while I'm at it just to see. Any hints?
Thanks,
