I have a 2RZ in my Hilux out of a 2004 Tacoma, I also have the A/c plumed into it as well. I am having trouble getting the compressor to turn on. I am wondering if my wiring might be off, but I don't think that's the case.

The system is not pressurized yet (i.e. no freon) would having no pressure in the system cause the a/c clutch not to engage? Would the pressure switch cause it not to come on?

Thanks for the help,

It has a pressure switch to keep the compressor from running without refrigerant in the system.

You really don't want to run the compressor with no refrigerant in it. It relies on flow of the refrigerant to keep itself cool. If you run it empty- you can damage it- hence the factory low pressure switch keeping the clutch from engaging.

AWESOME... I really dint want to run it for more than a second. I just wanted to see if I wired everything correctly. I guess I'll get the system charged and go from there.

Thanks for the help again, that is great news.

you can put a few ounces in then give it a go.

did you pressure test?
Did you pull a vaccum?
