2002 Toyota Tacoma Doublecab
230k miles - mostly freeway, aren't they always mostly freeway? ;)
This is how a taco should be built. I've had 3 tacos, 3 3rd gen 4runners, and many other toyotas. This is the perfect balance between a streetable rig and a capable crawler.

shower not included

This truck will do 85 mph+ on the freeway and still complete very difficult trails. We drove it 800 miles to the rubicon, wheeled the rubicon without needing so much as a strap, and drove it home 85 mph. This is a SOLID rig, and almost everything but the engine and tranny have been replaced. Don't let the 230k miles worry you, these rigs last forever. It's a great truck that seats 5.

only partial trades I'm interested in:
- clean stock 3rz (4cyl) 1st gen taco
- '86-'89 ifs 4runner (extra points if it has a 3rz or 5uz swap)

Way more info than you could ever want in my build thread here.

Great looking rig man, I just saw the video of the rubicon a few days ago on Ttora. I've loved most of your builds, especially that first gen you built a few years ago.

Nice rig but I'm a little curious as to why you did not do a SAS?
Is your Taco still for sale?

SAS isn't better in every situation. I much prefer the ride of IFS. SAS would have been nice for the rubicon, but ifs would have been better in every other situation I take this truck in.

Yes, it's still for sale. Price drop to $14k. It no longer has the winch, shower, or skids.

it's a nice rig, I wish you were closer. I would love to check it out, it looks like what I'm looking for..

I love Santa rosa. That's not too far. Just plan a moab trip and pick it up on the way to moab.

It drove to and from the Rubicon last sept, it'll make the drive just fine.

But I assume you're not really in a position to purchase right now.

I actually am kind of in the market for a rig. I'm just not totally sure if I want a double cab taco or a 4runner? I've been looking at SAS 4 runners but I'm thinking that I might like a double cab better. Believe me if you were 7 hours away & not 14 I might have gone on a little road trip this weekend.

I am in SLC Monday and Tuesday. If your sale doesn't go through, I would be willing to pick it up and drive it home. Just let me know.

Dan
