I took her in this morning to have the driver side wheel bearings repacked and the owner told me that I needed to have the rack and pinion and CV looked at. Lots of grease in the wheel well and you can see where the boot has blown.

His shop does not do this work and he recommended a local guy.

Before I head over there I’m wondering if anyone has recommendations on a shop in Seattle that can do this work. Preferably in NE Seattle area.

Any recommendations are appreciated.

Replacing the rack is far more expensive that resealing it. You can do it in your driveway.

1) if the shop isn't qualified to do a CV job I'm not sure I'd trust them doing the brakes and bearing job on a 100.

2) steering rack and CV are two very separate things. If there is grease everywhere it's most likely just from the CV and getting on everything. I would start with having a shop replace/reseal the CV, clean everything up, and see if the rack is still an issue
