Hello All,
I recently purchased 2x BJ40s. One is the older style with the fuel tank under the seat, while the other has the tank under the body between the frame members. I intend on making one decent jeep from the two. In dis-assembling I have noticed other differences that I would like some info on, please.
Another difference is the instrument cluster A reading. On one it is +-50A, the other is +-30A. Until I get the FSM or am told otherwise, I assume A is Amps. First question: why the two different types and what does that limit in my ability to swap parts from one to another?
Are the frames the same? I see that the rear bumpers are not the same, different light clusters.
The transfer cases are also different. The older is the straight line lever on the floor with a knob on the dash. The other has the L-type lever on the floor. Are these transfer cases swappable?
Many thanks for any help/info.
Michael
