Hi,

I have a 2006 78 series landcruiser with a non turbo 1hz.

It's always been a little sluggish. it's got 310km and I wasn't sure when the injectors had been changed, so I figured i would swap them for new Denso injectors and see if it helped or at the very least for a bit of PM.

I've swapped them over using new washers (big and small washer) connected them up and now seem to be down on power + rougher idle. All dry torque specs were followed.

I have bleed the system twice for air and even tried bleeding with the engine running by cracking each line (fuel came out revs decreased on all cylinders). I have also checked for air leaks. No diesel leaks either.

I'm wondering what the next step would be in my trouble shooting. I'm wondering if the injection pump is tired and with the new injectors might be showing its age. Or if there is something I may have over looked.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

when i threw in new injectors for my troopy the mechanic also rebuilt the fuel pump and adjusted the valves. i'm no genius wrencher, but my impression was that it was kind of a package deal, if you do one do the other two. my vehicle was a 2000 with about the same mileage as yours and the work was a huge improvement. Oh, and a new timing belt got the 1hz purring like newish.

Thanks for the advice, it's an ex mine vehicle so might not of had alot of love. I'll book in to check the pump i think and then go from there. Would be stoked if it runs a little better too.

Ok i had a chat with a diesel mechanic today and he said there are 3 different types of injectors for 1hz depending on the year.

The ones i purchased were 1HZ INJECTOR SET- BRAND NEW OUTRIGHT - https://performance4x4.com.au/products/1hz-injector-set-brand-new-outright
They are 093500-6890. They say they fit all 70 series 1hz. Through googling I found out they have DNOPD628 nozzles.

I took apart one of the injectors I removed and they have DNOPD20 nozzles.

What has me stumped is online these nozzles say they are for 2H and 3B engines and not for 1hz?

My question is have I got the wrong injectors or has my engine been fitted and tuned to work with different injectors for some reason? Or did the 1hz come with DNOPD20 nozzles standard? It's an ex mine vehicle if that changes anything.

Thanks in advance
