So I replaced the front brake pads and rotors on my 4Runner because of warped rotors. The fluid level was decent so I took the old stuff off, put the new stuff on pretty carefully. Started it up pumped brakes and something felt different. Drove around and the pedal is soft goes almost to floor with ok braking power. It is almost like there is a tiny lag and the braking power hits. If I pump the brakes at a stand still with engine running pedal firms up big time but dissipates if I push hard and is soft the next time I push the brakes.
So what the heck did I do? I have changed brakes a million times on vehicles and Landcruisers no problems.. any ideas?
Also been driving for last 3 days hard stops, traffic conditions no loss of fluid.. No leaks to be seen with naked eye or fluid weep.
