9,800 mile update. Planning to do an oil change on Sunday.

I bought a farm a few miles north of my current location and have been driving this truck back and forth - adding up the miles. It is about 35 miles round trip and 80 percent dirt roads. This truck is a dream to drive with the suspension and manual transmission.

The new seats have a great center material. Hey @c2dfj45 is that velour? They are beyond comfortable and the best Scheelmann I have ever had.

There is a new unichip to install as well as fixing the instrument cluster issues. I cannot think of a single thing I would do different.
Sure feels like velour.....maybe with a different backing.

Just wait until you see what we're doing for seats in a FJ62 we're working on :)

You lost me at FJ62. Just kidding.

The velour is really really nice. I may want to do another set.
We need to do some retro Toyota colors on a set :)

Need to sell a truck or two before I can start any additional projects.
Ears perk up across the country, wallets shrink in fear...

Oh please. Buying a truck from me is the best deal ever. I spend all the money and time and then sell for a fraction of what I paid so i will have garage space for the next project.
No argument there John. Speaking for myself in that post. I guess it came across the wrong way. My brain starts thinking through the build threads, wondering which might go up for sale. Knowing it will be sorted, upgraded and OEM otherwise and there will never be a shot at another one like it. My wallet shrinks in fear not from your price, but because it knows I'm coming to empty it.

^^^^ that's how I read the post. I want every one of the Jomelo trucks after I follow your builds; they are the best value going, no doubt about it. I don't know if the 77 has sold yet, but if it hasn't people looking for a 70 series have no idea what they are missing out on at that price and what it is. And the 80 here, sheesh, it is too good to be true.

I'm so happy that you spend the time to document your builds. They are amazing to follow.

I knew what you meant. It was more for the ones I don’t know reading the thread.

It’s crazy that 77 series has not sold. It’s no longer owned by me but it’s the same shape as when it left my barn - and it’s really nice with a lot of great upgrades.

John,
Would be cheaper to buy more garage space. We park the cruisers around the house trying to lower the real estate pricing here so our kids can buy a place. 😀

Knocked out an oil change today at 9,989 miles.

June is going to be a busy month. @wngrog is delivering my red FJ45 this weekend. The following weekend @SNLC is sending support down for a few tweaks on this truck. Once Chris leaves, I’m flying to Indiana to look at another cruiser I recently bought. Also I bought another 80 that’s headed to @SNLC.

Update complete.

So much for culling the herd eh John?

Dude, you already built the ultimate 80!

I doubt that it is, I just don’t know how you build anything better than this one.

How does Lockwood go more full Lockwood than full Lockwood?
