Bought this 6 months ago, lent her to my old man for a week and he loved it. Man I'm a good kid, so I'm giving it to him as an early 70th.

~250,000km, with a dealer installed Nissan turbo kit from a JDM safari. Apparently there were a lot of complaints about how sluggish the auto was behind the TD42, so dealers were offering a turbo upgrade at first service back in the day, so let's call it a factory turbo, rare as hens teeth.

Now that it's not being sold, I'm busy building the old fella a rig before I finish either of my 80s. I love this thing, happy to see it stay with us & excited for him to have his own car for adventures. Haven't done much to it yet, rebuilt knuckles, painted diff, fresh brakes all round.

List of stuff on the way over the next few months:

Fresh engine/trans mounts
Body mounts
Upgraded fan
Fresh 2 inch coils/shocks
Hybrid radius arms c/w drop boxes
32" tires and some pokier rims
3" turbo back exhaust with fancy varex muffler
EGT + boost + temp gauges
ABS door cards (to preserve the mint original cards)
Emu wing windows

Way down the line I'll throw a fresh turbo, 11mm pump and W2A + interchiller at it, but I'll finish my 80s first. Still figuring out how to make gauges look period correct, neither of us want flashy digital stuff in this car. No drawers, all seven seats, proper grampa spec for a proper grampa.

Turns out I was wrong about the turbo, it's a Safari turbo kit, but the PO was convinced it was from a JDM Nissan Safari & I believed him.

That's a fresh looking bay, mine is a little more used.

I have previously owned NA TD42 manual and can confess that the turbo gives the car exactly what it needs to become alive, nothing less, nothing more. I love it and its basically a different car. I am very curious about your version - NA AT. I knew it existed but have never seen one :)

In Australia you are experts in this Patrols/Safaris and as far as I know they are pretty common. Here in Europe they are like unicorns. Please keep the thread alive, its a pleasure :)

I love your registration plate :)
