You all know of someone local that belongs to the club, that would do supension parts replacements? Not looking for a shop/dealership, just someone that enjoys working on FJ62'. :)
Recently divorced, and place I'm living now, no means to do any work on my FJ62. No tools (which I had a lot of snap-on tools), and no garage. I'll have new OME shocks in hand this coming Monday, and will have to order springs, etc as funds permit.

Its an easier afternoon job, especially with a kit. I know the OME kit I got for my 40 had everything...springs, shows, shackles and hardware. Its expensive but they way to go. Really just basic tool, a big hammer and some grease and it goes in fairly easy for the most part. Maybe some of us guys in the club can help out in the driveway...or somebody has a garage up that way where we could do it. But its a pretty straight forward job...

This is something I think we should consider adding on the club calendar: A wrenching weekend, frequency tbd but maybe 3x a year? Spring, summer and fall?

As Kyle said shocks are easy, but if you don't have the means, I can help you out.

Thanks for the offer, which I will probably need to take advantage of. I like the idea of the '3x' a year wrenching weekends. I wrenched for 18 yrs back when I lived in Michigan, doing high-performance custom work on jet boats, snowmobiles, personal watercraft, atvs, and motorcycles.
Also worked on my own 4runners (suspension, removing/installing transmissions to replace clutches), LC suspensions on FJ80 and FJ100'.
So I'm no rookie to doing the work, just in a situation I don't have the means currently to do it. :)

Woo-hoo!!! Parts that weren't to show up until Monday, arrived today! Good thing I was home, as it required a signature. I'll stop drooling some time later tonight, maybe. :)
