Hi All,
Minor fender-bender where I rear-ended somebody (fortunately everybody's fine) resulted in enough of a body-work estimate that the insurance company is going to deem it a "total loss". Bad body includes hood, front quarters, front grill & light lenses (bulbs are fine tho ;p). Aftermarket grill-guard was the culprit (impact pushed it back and up) - my guess is that I'd be replacing a bumper if it were stock to begin with.
Regardless, I'll get some pics up tomorrow but I'm interested to see if anybody is interested in it as-is, in the Seattle area. As a side-note I've driven it every day since the accident (November 8th), mechanically it's been fine - alignment's a bit out and I haven't been able to open the hood to check it out, but it's been running fine. Aside from mentioned bodywork, details include stock vehicle (aside from bumpers & tires) red body (looks like PO had some previous paint done - not a perfect match), descent condition grey interior (typical bad driver's seat), missing rear headrests. Power steering is on it's way out (I'm told) few inches of play in the steering wheel even before the accident. AC doesn't work - PO thinks it just needs a charge but I've not looked into it, minor leak on rear-main, some very minor surface rust around roof gutter & a little around a ding on front quarter panel, but it (the panel) now has larger issues... As far as I know, the frame's in good shape, same with body (aside from the obvious) and engine. Basically a good condition truck that could made into a nice trail rig, or even salvage titled to a fine dd if someone wanted to do the work themselves rather than paying the insurance company's body shop to go at it.
Not really sure what it's worth in it's present condition so if anybody's interested, throw out an offer and I'll see how it compares with what the insurance company will make me pay to keep it (still tbd). lemme know if there are questions or specific pics that would be helpful
