So now that so many have upgraded how do you find your 2F on large hills and daily driving?

It’s such a no-brainer. Best performing mod you can make. 100% worry free.

Hills. It laughs. My 55 pulls it’s 5400# weight at 70 in 5th with around 25% throttle input.

I have been reading the Sniper install threads with great interest. I'm in the process of desmogging my '83 FJ60 and going to a Sniper. My question is the Sniper wiring. Where did you hook up the yellow "coil input" put wire? The install manual is vague and warns of damaging the ECU with CD ignition system mis-wiring. Thanks for any info.

Yellow wire is just the coil wire. I have a DUI but did find that you can run the factory switched 12 plug for coil/ignition to Tach plug on DUI and tap the factory tach wire in with the yellow wire

These two wires are the factory plugs that go into your coil and igniter

Thanks for the quick response. I don't have a DUI/HEI type distributor with a tach terminal. I'm wondering where the yellow Sniper wire would terminate on a stock 2f ignition system?

On the coil, the negative terminal...

I'm running the stock tank. The GPA fuel pump, if I installed it in the hole that the original pick up tube location, will not put the pick up in the lowest place in the tank. Seems that it would fit into the hole where the sending unit goes, but that about the fuel gauge?

Simply Amazin.... It is what is on hills, and I have alotta if em here in Colorado...better, yes, ever gnna be doing 80mph up em....no, but still better. The "daily driving" is.the killer. It's INFINITELY better....I'm always between 5000' (Denver) 7500' (Evergreen) and 9800' (my cabin) and it's running superbly better all around....

It's starts with 1 turn of the key after booting up...EVERYTIME!!! The only test left is cold weather starting....which is pretty much why I did the entire conversion in the 1st place....my gut feeling is it'll be fine/same. Keep.ya posted!

Your weather is much colder, but I never had one issue in sub 30' temps in MS this winter. Started the same then as it does now!

It's awesome not having to try + keep my rig running when coming to a stop at a stop sign or red light by playing with the gas...always concerned it was gnna stall. Just never could get it running smooth with the carb...was always all.over the place. NOW, it's just smooooooth!!

Taking tank to get a hole cut and flange welded in and old supply/return sealed today. Looking forward to getting my 60 back on the road.

Get ready to do some cleaning! I cut the hole in mine and then spent the next 3 hours or more with a magnet and vacuum getting every bit of junk out of it!

Thank you!. I was surprised at how clean the tank is. It does have a film of white crud. The kind you find in float bowls, but not bad at all considering it's age

I mainly mean from the drilling. Try and get a vacuum in the factory return line hole to suck up as much crap as you can while you drill. It helps, but you will still need a magnet and vacuum the left over trash from all the drilling. Its very tedious.....

I appreciate the advice on the filings. With the baffles, it will be a real PITA to flush them out especially after the old supply bung is sealed. I'll post pictures and add my hind sight wisdom for the benefit of those who follow.
