I have a 1985 FJ-60 V8 conversion project that I am considering selling. The vehicle is unfinished, but all the parts including the tbi engine are there.
Here are some details: Vehicle body is rust free and dent free. It is a southern vehicle. The clear coat is peeling off the paint. The drive train has been removed and the engine and the original engine mounts removed. Interior is in very nice shape. The front axle knuckles were recently rebuilt. Stainless steel brake lines.
Parts that go with the project: Chevy tbi 305 engine complete with harness, ecu and all acessories. Extra heavy duty professionally rebuilt 700r4 auto trans ($2k spent on rebuild and I have documentation. Entirely rebuilt transfer case with AA adapter. AA trans crossmember mount. B&M shifter. AA weld in engine mounts. Downey vss. Man a free shackle reversal kit. CCOT heavy duty shackles. Rams horn exhaust manifolds. original 4 spd trans, and other parts I'm sure I've left out.
Basically everything that one would need to complete the conversion is there along with some left over removed parts, minus the 2F.
Basically what is left to do is weld in the motor mounts, install the V8 and drive train, and install an exhuast system.
Unfortunately, life has gotten in the way, and it looks like I'm going to be hard pressed to complete the conversion myself.
I have over $10k invested in the vehicle right now which is too much, but like I mentioned $2k alone is on the trans and transfer case rebuild, and I didn't skimp on parts.
This is a great opportunity for someone wishing for a V8 project at a substantial savings compared to what I have invested in the vehicle to this point.
For pictures and more details contact me at jamot1@gmail.com and I'll be glad to send photos and provide additional information to perspective buyers. Basically anything I have associated with an FJ-60 would be included in the sale.
My asking price is $6000.00 or best offer for the entire set up including all the spare parts I have.
I'm also listing some FJ-40 pats and projects in other ads so I am also willing to work with someone on a package deal.
