1985 BJ70 LHD Toyota Land Cruiser for sale - $12000 CDN obo
I only use the truck to commute to work on the highway (10 minutes) and some city driving - no offroading. The Cruiser has about 226000 km on it (I have put on about 100 000km myself). I have taken good care of the Cruiser since I inherited it in 2004. It had one owner from 1985 to then – a doctor from my hometown.
In 2005 I had undercarriage sandblasted and resealed to get rid of any rust. I also had minor touch ups to the body done and had a new paint job. Right after that I had a heavy duty undercoat done. I then got Old Man Emu shocks and springs put on it. I had a new head gasket installed around Christmas of 2004.
I get my oil changes every 5000 km, which seems to keep it in pretty good shape. I also just had a new muffler installed by Toyota, so it has a lifetime warranty on the part and labour.
I had both the front and back breaks done (new calipers and discs) in December 2007, and new tires put on in November. In March2008 I got a new cross member and u-joint in the drive shaft.
The back seat in the truck goes down to make quite a good sized trunk, and if you did want to use the back seats, there is TONS of room for the passengers. The two front seats have 'floating' suspension, so it helps with the bumpiness of the drive. I have the original stereo (AM/FM only) but have replaced it with a CD player. I also have the rubber which holds in the wind shield (I just have it in case I ever had to replace the windshield).
There are 2 batteries in this truck, making it a 12Volt. 1985 was the only year they did this. There is also locking hubs and 4 wheel drive. It passed inspection in November of 2007.
Other than the crunch in the rear (backed into the garage..oops), there are of course minor touch ups that could be done, but none of them necessary.
I believe that there were only a few hundred of these trucks imported into Canada between 1984 and 1987, and none were imported into the US.
If you need any more info, please ask
