Agree that with the propane tanks and LED stuff, they are light, on/off and ready in seconds. I think the reason I'm loving the old stuff with the fuel, hissing, and warm glow is the same reason I love an old Toyota.

It is truly wonderful that you are now getting to enjoy all of the fruits of your immense labor.Chairs were provided by the camp area and we ended up stacking them up and setting them aside. We do have a couple of 70's "themed" chairs, but hard to get away with all period correct.
Having just got home, there are some things that you realize are nice to have and modern. The long clicker lighter with flex tip. Vs. matches was one of those things. Using matches all the time got old, but part of the experience.
I drove the 40 an hour and change one way, average speed was about 65 (according to gps) and will have to fix a few things:
1. It is squirrelly. More so that any cruiser I've driven. Could be toe/alignment but wow, small gust of wind and its all hands on deck.
2. There is a small vibration (speed related) and I noticed there is a small amount of play (maybe 16th of an inch when I wiggle the driveshaft. Not sure what it might be.
3. Even with new weatherstripping the doors rattle a tad, will need to adjust the strikers.
4. I love it even more. We had an absolute blast and I enjoyed every minute of the trip!

If I recall, the fuel sender can only be installed one way. Screws are spaced to ensure this.

I ordered new hardware and spacers, but the new dash had spacers already inserted, so I just needed to salvage the retaining bracket and install.
