So developing snowballing plans:

Guy in Idaho had a h55f / split case w/ 3:1 lo-range and PB straight from @orangefj45 that became homeless when I bought an all new 1fz-fe/h152f setup for the stretched 1963 40 build there.

So into BATPIG it goes.

@FJ60Cam had just finished a 4.4L / sniper / hyperspark 2F that I was going to put in a truck at @samc2447’s place, but …

into BATPIG it goes.

A copy of my header already arrived in Idaho. Rest of exhaust will be stainless.
Any updates?

Bumpers, 15x8 widened wheels, grille, fender vents all back from powder coat tomorrow.

Electric PS came in from @Racer65. Still need to get the OEM steering box rebuilt.

In order to be sure to make Pig Party 2024, a lot of the thrash is staying on the shelf until after July.

Thrash:
  • Mosley 4.4L 2F (Carrillo rods/pistons, hyperspark ignition, Sniper EFI)
  • Tri-Meki 2F header
  • Stainless exhaust
  • H55F / split case w/PB
  • Tom Woods driveshafts
  • Tri-Meki fuel tank
  • Scheelmann front row
  • Cruiser Crap console
  • Tire carrier in cargo area
  • Electric PS, rebuilt manual box
  • 33x12.50R15 Kenda Krawlers on 15x8 Toyota wheels
  • Headliner
  • Visors
  • Stock rear view mirror
  • Carpet
  • Bunch of cosmetics under hood (air cleaner, carb cooler, valve cover)
  • Desmog
  • Stereo upgrades (sub, amp)
  • Speedometer correction
  • Lighted LED “factory” switches
  • All new door/window rubber
  • Window channels
  • Polish windows
  • New windshield (existing is cracked near mirror and has a GM style mirror)
  • Fix tailgate switch
  • Rust repair / abatement near rear seat
  • New front springs
  • Rebuild axles/seals/hubs
  • Polish off overspray on key surrounds
  • Dry ice blast underside and engine compartment, then woolwax or similar
Jarbidge, NV is only about 200 miles/4 hours from Meridian, so the plan is to keep it drivable until after PP24, then thrash and try to make SSS24 with it.

excellent idea.

its ok to ruin a few 40's but if your going bamboo floors in the pig might as well cut the top off an make a rag top out of it while your there. also do the snorkel right and dont hook it to the carb just mount on the outside of vehicle for the cool factor. if your in meridian take that ole girl down to three forks area and over to alvord. we will be spending a few days in that area on our pig road trip next summer

Ahh heell yeahz bruh!
Now to get the Death Dealer mural on the hood, dawg!

Welp, this is a 1978 FJ55, and that picture was used on the cover of Molly Hatchet's debut album (issued Sept 1978), so it fits. So many memories listening to that album and hanging/drinking with friends.

I saw Molly Hatchet once in Augusta, GA. Must have been around 1981 or so. Savoy Brown and one other band played as well. I remember my eardrums were ringing afterwards.

Was always a big fan of Frank Frazetta in my teen years. I still have one of his books around the house somewhere.
