No. It clocks everything counter clockwise which is up and away from the passenger side crossmember.

I used one on my FJ45 and discovered it. Never knew actually.

You've still got it backwards, look at a 3F and regular 2F bellhousing side by side and you'll see the difference. It's why I don't like the 3F bellhousings.
Regardless, its not related to your issue. just use your cut down 85-87 as you were and take a nice notch out of the top half of the crossmember, plate it back in and run the exhaust over it. Nice and tucked away from the ground. I've cut clearance into these box crossmembers like this quite a few times, only issue I had was I cracked the 62 crossmember in my 62 but that was after several years of hard V8 abuse. This 40 won't see that

The pipe they sell would not fit even if the crossmember wasn’t there. It hits the frame.

But it’s being used…..

I had to kick him out. He’s taking this stuff home with the collector to Tig up tonight then he will bring his Tig stuff back out here to start putting the stainless in place. I actually got some things done today but it was up in the air again before I got any pics. More tomorrow

A hammer? Grinder? Us hacks are starting to get excited!

A leather hammer and a 2 5/16 trailer ball.

So many tips from this guy. I also found out my MiG welder is a piece of s*** so I ordered one he likes to replace it.

He will be using that for the crossmember…..

Going up. Got a lot done.

Oil is in. (Had a nightmare someone came and cranked it when I was gone)

Lucas Zinc and Rotella for break in. Will run 20-50 Valvoline with zinc added after break in. Forgot to buy coolant……

The wizard showed up and the truck went up in the air but I still had plenty to do

I scraped and polished these two

Next I made a little bracket to let me run a 80-84 slave with the 85+ bellhousing. I like the return spring and the adjustability.

Need to grab some M10 x 70 tomorrow to button that up.

Just curious, why such a heavy oil? Assume that's what Mosley recommends? Also what MIG did you order? I have just started looking at welders.

Really coming together nicely.

That’s not a whole lot thicker than the 15-40 Rotella many use. I’ve run 20w-50 ever since @Texican told me too. Arguing with him is dumb.

I recently switched to the Valvoline because it has Zinc included.

Welder……Millermatic 211

Agree on adding zinc! These old girls need it.

Isn't this the supreme oil debate? Rotella 15w-40 vs Castrol 20W-50?

are you all adding Zinc to the VR1 oil, which supposedly already has higher levels of zinc? @wngrog

If you are adding more zinc additive to the VR1 oil, what additive and how much?
