Somehow the QC department missed a couple of errant head studs on assembly and I never noticed with it sitting here a month so they had to go first thing this am.

Next I lined it all up and shooed Cowboy away and went on a stabbing spree

Ever since I got this lift I’ve found that installing the motor and the trans/transfer separately is much easier when working alone.

Part of all my builds is adding a split case transfer case to the truck. This case is stronger and much quieter than the one piece case. Technically you can add these to the 78 bellhousing and let it hang off the motor mounts but I use a FJ60 bellhousing and 3 piece transmission mount.

Because of that I have to support the rear of the motor with a heavy ratchet strap until the transmission goes in.

The engine is a little low in the back as it sits but I’ll fix that when I mount the driveline

I’m suffering some serious engine bay envy right about now. Beautiful work.

I saw this first hand earlier this week and left with shop envy, 40 envy, and cotter pin envy. Excellent work underway here.

Rolling out a piece of porn at a time for this guy.

No one really commented on the one belt/no fan thing so this may have already been mentioned before

Mosley Motors has these aluminum radiators with Spal fans built custom. I’ve really wanted to see what a Cop motor felt like without the drag of 3 belts, hence the electric PS ans Fan…..

There is about 1” to spare between these two

They come natural aluminum but I had it powdered black to blend in with the OEM

For the seatbelt restore do they make sure the mechanisms are good to go as well? I’m going to do this.

Yes and they sew the Toyota labels back on

It says FRAGILE. Maybe it’s a major award!
I asked Red to drag the boxes next to the other boxes of super-cool-yet-to-be-disclosed parts……

great thread - always enjoy your builds - which bleeder adapter are you using on the Motive? the BA10?
also do you have part info on the wide belt? mine has the narrow gates one id like to replace

I’m just sitting here trying to get a clutch installed and watching my mad scientist draw up the exhaust and Lockwood texts….

“Open the damn boxes already!”
